FUTURE IN CHILDREN'S HANDS
Hands On! strives to act as a global leader, advocate and a resource for organizations serving the learning needs of children and families.
The 11th Hands On! conference focused on the importance of informal education in the 21st century, exploring subjects such as the impact of digital technology, child development through art, storytelling and play, and the future of museums as places of social engagement. |
Workshop: Two showcases of best practice: Implementing Social Engagement
Our truly hands-on workshop "Two Showcases of best practice: Implementing Social Engagement" featured "The Ballad of Planquadrat Garden. A True Story from Vienna" as an example of children’s books which foster political empowerment, citizenship education, global awareness, personal growth, and empathy.
Co-hosted by Yana Doncheva who baked bread with our workshop participants in order to demonstrate the Bread Houses Network's approach of combining baking, storytelling, and ethical topics.
